Day 36 Fri 23 April

The focus of the work is transferring indoors although there are still things to be done externally. We are into the season of choosing kitchen furniture and tiles etc etc. It's obviously not enough that we are also getting married in two weeks time. How do you add a smiley to these blogs? f

Day 34 Wed 21 April

Cabling days, inside and out! Flooring started too! And time for tea at the builder's retreat too.

Sunday 18 April 2010

Rannoch Moor

As a diversion, here is where I was on Friday!! The vast expanse of Rannoch Moor was a good place to test my Garmin Etrex and my map reading skills.

Day 31 Fri 16 April

Well the team are having their whole weekend this time. The internal partitions are starting to go up and we can see how the rooms are going to work.

Day 30 Thurs 15 April

Inside is taking rapid shape. Ross was getting the first of the inside walls up towards the end of the day. Andy managed to finish the bric work on the near gable end. Well done guys. I see the child entertainment service is working well too.

Wednesday 14 April 2010

Not much happening on the outside today, apart from sills going under the windows. On the inside insulation was being put up on the walls. Arthur was looking a bit vacant until he realised I was on the prowl with my camera! He told me that Beth and Scott and Paul enjoy looking at pictures of him at work, but these are very very hard to come by. I'll try and persuade him to pick up a hammer and hand it to someone next time he comes.

Day 28 Tues 13 April

The Granny Flat is becoming an accepted part of the garden landscape. I saw a jackdaw settle on it this evening. Hopefully they won't move in before we have!

Day 26 Sunday April 11th

Chris decided he needed to come in over the weekend to get on with slating the roof as he goes on holiday on Tuesday. Thankfully the weather was brilliant.

Thursday 8 April 2010

Day 23 Thurs 8th April

The velux windows started going in today and the back of the unit is being slated. (Not criticised, but roofed!)

Wednesday 7 April 2010

Day 22 Wed 7 April

A bright sunny day for getting on with stuff. Rooftop views are now possible! Note the wall on our neighbour's side being harled.

Tuesday 6 April 2010

Day 21 Tues 6 April

Today started off dry and clear and almost everyone turned out, including Arthur and Rob and Stewart for a site meeting. We discussed water butts amongst other things, and will be patenting, selling and distributing out rainwater collecting system. Watch this space for details as they emerge. Orders can be placed on the blog or on facebook.

Day 20 Easter Monday

We went away up to Rannoch Moor to walk the 12 miles from Kingshouse to Rannoch Station. while Ross braved the grim look of the morning to work on the house. We had a very wet start to our walk but the rain eased off for the afternoon before settling in again as we grabbed a quick meal in the Bridge of Orchy Hotel, having caught the train there from Rannoch Station. We had an hour until our bus back to where we had left the car arrived. By then the rain was lashing down again. When we got back this is what we saw what he'd been up to. He did manage to find and scoff one of the eggs we left out as a reward for his labours.

Day 19 Easter Saturday

All quiet in the garden. I think they all thought the better of working on Easter Saturday!

Day 18 Good Friday 2 April

Now the building is really starting to take shape. While the guys forged ahead we did some research on walks up by Bridge of Orchy. I've put in some of the pics we took too.
